I currently live in the UK and have been thinking about migrating to Australia of late. But I do not have the first idea how to go about it. What are the rules for migrating from the UK, what skills do I need and I also heard that you have to have lots of money saved up before you go is this true?
Every year thousands of people from the UK migrate to live in Australia and do so by using an agent to process their application for a visa. It does depend on what category you fall into as to which visa you apply for; if you have family there you can apply for a different visa than a visa applied for mainly based on your education and skills. What skill (Job) you have trained to do is important because this can also change how you apply as certain states/territories have their own lists of wanted skill sets which can jumpstart your application. Online agencies can supply you with these lists.
Each agency online will offer you a free assessment so that you can get a general idea as to where your choices lie in your bid to migrate to Australia. The rules and regulations are in some respect quite tight but they are that way for a reason which is something that they pride themselves on and by migrating to Australia you are also showing that you too want the best for you and your family. As for the rumor that you heard about having to save up a certain amount of money is not exactly true. What you do need to show on your application is how you expect to financially sustain yourself while in the country, you can do this with proof of a job awaiting you with a fixed long term contract, the expected sale and equity release on your UK home to prove you can afford to purchase yourself a home there or by providing them of some other way you are going to be financially stable.
